WILBUR-ELLIS COMPANY APPOINTS DIRECTOR OF REGULATORY AND GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS

Scott Rawlins selected to advocate on the company’s behalf for favorable policies and regulations

SAN FRANCISCO — Feb. 7, 2011 — Wilbur-Ellis Company, a leading international marketer and distributor of agricultural products, animal feed and specialty chemicals and ingredients, is pleased to announced that Scott Rawlins has been appointed to the newly created director of regulatory and governmental affairs role.

In his new role, Rawlins will work with Wilbur-Ellis’ management team to ensure the company meets the industry’s evolving policies and regulations. On behalf of the company, he’ll keep government and industry officials abreast of the company’s position when new government and regulatory policies arise and advocate for legislation that is favorable to the company’s strategic interests.

Rawlins brings more than 20 years of experience to Wilbur-Ellis, most recently as the vice president, regulatory and governmental affairs at Makhteshim Agan of North America. Prior to that, he was with American Farm Bureau Federation.

“With the addition of Scott as our organizational expert on regulation, Wilbur-Ellis has a seat at the table to drive and formulate industry practices that benefit our company, customers, employees and industry,” said Dan Vradenburg, president of the Agribusiness Division. “Scott will also be pivotal in keeping our leadership informed of the impact of new legislation so our operations continue uninterrupted.”

Rawlins will work mainly with the company’s Agribusiness Division, reporting to Troy Hackett, who leads Wilbur-Ellis’ enterprise risk management function. He’ll develop a regulatory and governmental affairs strategy with organizational management to meet objectives related to regulation. Additionally, Rawlins will counsel the company’s regulatory leaders across all branches and divisions on federal, state and local regulations including but not limited to those under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Transportation and U.S. Department of Labor.

“Wilbur-Ellis has a long history of bringing innovative solutions to market and I’m proud to join and influence the next chapter of the company,” said Rawlins. “I look forward to working with a dedicated team to shape forward-thinking policies that will impact our company and industry for years to come.”

Rawlins earned a B.S. in Agriculture from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He joined the company on Jan. 7 and is based out of the Walnut Creek office.
